HANDBELL CHOIR
Handbells will start up around the first week in January 2011. Made up of ringers of all ages, the Trinity Handbell Choir is a treasured part of our music ministry. This ensemble frequently presents music for worship in the 10:30 AM service on Sunday's, as well as special programs events through out the year. The Handbell Choir plays a wide variety of pieces including works for handbells alone, with the choir, and with organ or other instruments.
The Adult handbell choir meets on Sunday evening at 6:00 to 7:00 in the choir room. The youth handbell choir meets seasonally. We also have a children's handchime choir and a preschool melody bell choir that meets seasonally. We currently have 5 octaves of handbells and 3 octaves of handchimes. No musical experience is necessary and it is not required that one must be able to read music. That is the one great thing about our handbell choir. We rarely, very rarely have extra rehearsals. Renee's philosophy was that if everyone is present at the regularly scheduled practices, then there is no need for extra rehearsals. The hardest thing about playing handbells is the commitment to attend all rehearsals. Good ringers are always sought and alternate ringers are always needed.
