Extended Suspension of Worship Services
All Mountain View District Churches shall remain closed for in-person worship services for the next two weeks. This decision is made with careful consideration of rising cases of COVID-19 in all counties within the Mountain View District and in love and the hope of keeping all our congregations safe. Data used in making these determinations can continue to be reviewed at https://globalepidemics.org/key-metrics-for-covid-suppression/.
All in-person services – indoor, outdoor, and drive-in are suspended at this time. Closures will be reevaluated on August 10, 2020
The church buildings may be closed but the work of the church continues. In times like these, as your District Superintendent, I want to say thank you for your faithfulness and your stewardship during this pandemic crisis.
As you are well aware, ministry in all of our communities continues and the cost of ministry continues as well. With your ongoing faithfulness, our Pastors and essential Church Workers can continue to be compensated for the work they are doing. We are a Team. We are Family. And we are STILL the Church not defined by a building.
This is not the time to abandon the cause, jump ship or withhold support; this is the time to UNITE.
Thank you all for your cooperation.
Colossians 3:23 Whatsoever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not unto humankind.
Faith hope love,
Rev. A. M. Hardy Cross
